The Eagles Nest

The Eagles Nest

It was early summer when we loaded up the old Suburban. We were following several other cars out on a new adventure.
I was living in a beautiful little cottage on the edge of Lake Viking in Central Missouri.
Miranda was our guide, she had been living here for several years and had explored much of the area already.
She discovered in a Field Museum of Natural History at Chicago, a star chart in the Pawnee collection. It is a wonderful map that paints a picture of the star constellations on an elk hide.
She had a theory that the map was used to lay out the different Pawnee villages and mirrored the constellations in the sky, she was on a quest to find those locations.
She took a copy of the map and used it like a road map and once she had located a few prominent villages, she told us she was going to show us her crowning achievement.
She described how she would drive around a likely location and follow the energy until it was so strong that it was time to get out and walk.
She found a wonderful old tree in a farmers field, we couldn’t see it from the road but somehow she found it.
The woods in that part of Nebraska were thick, we had to climb over several fences and jump over a small creek but there it was.
It was a magnificent silver maple. It was huge and the branches stretched out over 50 feet. Four of us held hands to circle around the trunk.
One of the distinguishing features was a large hole in the trunk, so large that one of us climbed up and got inside.
Inside the hole was an eagles nest, we found feathers that had been left by the last resident.
Each of these locations on the map had been carefully chosen because of the sacred nature of the land.
Vortices or energy points are located in many places on the earth. When you find one it may be marked by a tree, a hill, a depression in the earth, or perhaps a spring.
This location was linked with others that were on the map by lei lines, these are invisible lines of energy that run between locations, somewhat like a highway.
This particular location was part of several grids that existed in this part of the country.
Vesta Nebraska was linked to Adam on Di Ahman in central Missouri and also linked to the International Forest of Friendship in Atchison, Kansas.
These three points formed an energy triangle on the map.
I went to all of these places eventually but the day we visited the Silver maple in Vesta Nebraska is one that I will never forget.
We did a ceremony and then a prayer.
As we stood talking Pearlene suddenly fell to the ground, weeping uncontrollably. This went on for several minutes.
The others were alarmed and rushed to her side, I had witnessed this before and knew that she was feeling Spirit energy so strong that she could no longer stand and control her emotions.
As the energy subsided, she reassured the others that she was feeling better.
I knew that she would let me know what happened in private.
The day continued without further emotions and we returned home.
When I asked her about the experience, it took her some time to answer.
She told me that she had been so overcome by the powerful Being that had visited her, that she was completely overcome.
He was unseen and unfelt by the rest of the group but she received a message from him.
She explained that this was one of her Spirit Guides, he had been with her for a long time.
As a mother of seven children whenever she needed answers she would go to her special prayer place in the mountains near Heber, Arizona. Her guide would meet her there and she would write down the instructions that he would give.
But on this occasion, the information was so powerful that she was unable to control her composure.
The message had to do with a previous lifetime that we had lived together.
In that life I was in mortal form and she was in spirit form.
I can not reveal the details of the information but suffice it to say that it was overwhelming to both of us.
I have had the privilege to be part of many of these kinds of experiences over the years.
When I begin to feel that feeling that comes when I am in sacred space, it is though I have walked through a doorway.
The air is rarified, the silence of the stillness creates a reverent atmosphere and I know that if I listen with my heart that a message will come.
I often carry a notebook with me to record such events. I never know ahead of time when they are to occur.
I have been inside caves, driving down the freeway and walking in a forest when I feel that feeling.
It takes practice to listen and still the mind, but when you do you are listening to the mind of God.
That day in Vesta at the Eagles nest was one of the more special occasions.
I relish in that surrender to Spirit, just feeling, just being surrounded in Love.

In those moments all else fades away and I know that
        I AM.
