Smart meters

Over the past several weeks I watched an event unfold that has me baffled.
I was on my way to play bingo with the locals at the newly remodeled showhouse a few weeks ago when I noticed a gathering at the Senior center. I wondered what was going on especially when it was bingo night.
The next day I found out that our local electric utility company, Garkane, held a public meeting to inform the town that smart meters were being installed on homes.
A “smart meter” is an electronic device capable of sending information on your electric usage to the utility company.
It sounds harmless enough until you do the research.
Smart meters are capable of sending a burst of energy back through the electric transmission line to the utility company servers where it is analyzed to determine how much electricity you are using, when you are using it, which appliances you are using, along with the ability to shut your meter off with the push of a button.
The utility companies are claiming that the meters will benefit the consumer.
Garkane announced that they would reduce the monthly billing by five dollars if you request the smart meter and that they would charge you 50% less during non peak usage.
Hmmmm?
My research turned up information that troubled me.
The “smart meters” also known as time of use meters, emit electromagnetic radio waves pulsing every 15 seconds of every minute of every hour of every day. The EMF or electronic magnetic frequency that is emitted has been linked to numerous health conditions. Smart meters have been known to blow up on private homes when a surge of electricity is sent though the lines.
A simple search on the internet on smart meters will fill hundreds of pages of contradictory information.
Consumers are concerned with health and safety. Utility companies are concerned with more profit.
The way I see it is this … Utility companies and others are using “smart devices” to spy on us. They tell us that smart technology is the wave of the future, while failing to point out that our smartyphone calls are being monitored, our smart TV is watching us and listening in to private conversations, our smart car navigating systems are being monitored, and the smart meters are watching our every use of electricity.
What happens when a small utility company gets connected to the larger electrical grid?
Will our utility company sell off our surplus electricity to larger metropolitan cities to make money?
What happens when the big cities need more?
Will they tap into the grid, usurp our electricity and call the theft an acceptable loss in favor of the greater need?
The utility companies are staying off the cost of badly needed new generation plants by penalizing the consumers with extra costs.
They are charging us double when we need it the most, in the heat of the summer when  temperatures are highest during the day and penalizing us in the winter if we use our heat during the day when our homes are cold.
What about small children and elderly who need to have heat and cooling during peak use times?
I left for the city a few days after bingo.
Two weeks later I returned to my home in the country.
Guess what I found?
Garkane had installed a new meter capable of smart technology without my knowledge or permission while I was away.
A night of sleeplessness and internet research armed me with information to contact the utility company and demand immediate removal of the smart meter. Thankfully I was informed that the meter would be replaced on the next business day with the old style meter.
Later at bingo, I approached ten of my community neighbors.
I informed them of my research and concerns on smart meters.
Only one of ten was interested, the rest were unwilling and didn’t care about the adverse health effects that smart meters might cause.
I contacted a Garkane board member who lives a couple of blocks away and notified him of my research and the health dangers of the smart meters.
His answer?
The industry is moving toward smart technology and this is the wave of the future, I will keep my smart meter.
What?
In the face of solid evidence regarding health dangers, he chose to keep his smart meter?
Oh right … he gets a paycheck from Garkane. He is obligated to support them.
Remember mad cow disease?
Remember the scare that everyone had about the danger of having tainted beef?
Do you know why media coverage disappeared?
The FDA told inspectors to stop inspecting for mad cow disease.
Do you know what happened next?
Industry leaders appeared in the media eating burgers and declaring that there was no threat of tainted beef.
Hmmm?
What would you do?
Buy into the deception?
Trust the lies?
I feel completely at peace with my old analog electric meter.
I contacted the phone company and got instructions to deactivate the wifi from my router.
I unplugged my portable phones and use a desk phone now.
I hardwired my computer with a ethernet cord.
I haven’t completely given up my cell phone, but I keep it on airport mode to deactivate the microwave dangers and deactivate the wifi and blue tooth until I need it.
The sky is falling?
As a matter of fact … it is.
Have you looked up lately?
Weather modification is brought to you by big government and corporations whose only concern is making bigger profits and having more control.
Have you read the book 1984 by Orwell?
Welcome to 1984.
