The black Humvee

The ad said iMac for sale, five hundred dollars.
I decided to call and see if it was still available.
“Yes, I still have it.”
“Can I come and look at it?”
“I’ll see you there in an hour.”
My old computer was out of memory and I needed something that would run a bit faster and give me the features that I wanted.
It was time to upgrade but my wallet only allowed me to buy a used computer.
Craig’s list is often used by people who want to sell property. You can find all kinds of items ranging from camping equipment to escort services. I was a bit leery of using this service because I had known of stolen items being sold by people in need of quick money.
It was only a week before that I had left my truck unlocked while I was doing a project in a private community. I had been doing work here for over five years so I thought I knew this to be a safe area.
When I came out later to pack up and go home, I noticed the glove box was open and the center console items were scattered about.
Someone decided that my small iPod was valuable and it was missing.
When I arrived home I checked Craig’s list and found an iPod description that matched my iPod.
I decided that a forty-nine dollar iPod was not worth confronting the possible thief.
With these thoughts in my mind I drove to the location to see the used computer.
I watched as a black Humvee drove up and parked. Two young men got out each wearing what looked like gang clothes and they were heavily tattooed. They were carrying a computer.
I got out of my truck, approached them in the parking lot, and announced that I was the prospective buyer. I asked if this computer was stolen.
One of the young men stated; “Do you think that because of the way I look and dress, that I am a thief?”
I said, “Yes.”
“Let me tell you something,” he said.
“My wife and I just had our infant son die. It has caused a great hardship on our marriage. I am going through a divorce and I need this money to help my wife. The car belongs to my father who owns a tattoo shop here in town. I work with him learning his trade. I don’t want to sell my computer but I need the extra money.”
I felt foolish and told him I would like to buy the computer. We exchanged money and computer and I left feeling disappointed in myself because I had judged him wrongly. I thought that because of the way he looked, the car he drove, the internet ad and my own recent experience.
I checked out his story later and it made me feel even more ashamed that I had stereotyped him as a thief.
I am careful now when I see someone who is different. We are all so different and within us we carry the wounds and scars of a difficult journey. Sometimes those experiences wear a person down and it shows.
We walk paths that are unique to us and no one else.
It is not my place to judge anyone. I am careful not to allow the prejudice of the world to creep into my life.
I may not always succeed but whenever I see a black Humvee driving down the road I am reminded that not everything is as it seems.

24th of July

Oh heck!
Did you hear?
By the dawn’s early light,
The fire chief's truck
And his crews delight?
With hats and their boots
And their mortars all poised,
The volleys began, outside on my door.
My dreams were all stopped, my heart racing wild.
From rest I was raised,
I was startled and dazed,
Alarms rang out.
The cars from afar.
The locals declared,
Are my cows and my horses still there?
Bombs bursting in flight
As I looked at the clock,
Five something it said
When I raised out of bed.
I lay down my head and just closed my eyes,
When all over it started,
Heck! Heck! Heck!
Not again, with the fright.
The coffee pots on,
My eggs are all scrambled.
Where is that old band wagon and band?
The Lions club float with bass and guitar,
Just passed by my door.
Is that Moe, Curley and Joe?
Kids parade soon begins,
The children will lead.
The sirens and floats,
Are beginning to meet.
I better get down and set out my chairs,
Before some neighbor crowds out my fair share.
Kids with bikes and tots with their trikes,
Mothers’ along with Dads’ with their cameras,
Taking pictures of mayors and cute girls.
The smiles and the candies, the kids all in joy.
Fire truck’s with water are spraying the crowd,
I swear I’ll get even somehow or some way.
It goes by so fast, they turn and return,
The 20th’s the day we celebrate this day
It allows all our families and friends to stay.
Our 800 is doubled or tripled I’m sure,
By the looks of the traffic and families today.
The town park is all crowded with flair and with games,
The boy scouts are cooking,
Am I really that brave?
I’ll give them a try,
And hope I don’t die.
The kids are all climbing and swinging so high,
On new playground equipment and slides on the side.
The rodeo,
The dance,
The fireworks all tell,
That our pride and our song for those who came first,
They paved us the way, and tamed this land,
They gave us our heritage on this fine day.

The Last Kiss

The Last Kiss

Snow covered the ground when I first saw her.
There she was at the back of the room, sitting alone.
Her long red hair captured my attention.
She came up to me after the meeting and introduced herself to me. She announced that she was moving to that little town.
My inner guidance registered a definite connection to this woman, and I wondered why?
A month later, I got a call from a friend who asked me to stop by on the way home from work.
He announced that he had a letter that would interest me. I silently read page after page of hand written letter as I sat in his home. When I finished, he asked me what I thought?
I responded that the letter was directed to me and that I had an overwhelming feeling that my life was about to change in a dramatic way.
The 17 page letter unfolded with a description of a heavenly encounter she had experienced while attending that meeting a month ago.
She described that when she saw me enter the room, she felt two heavenly messengers stand next to her. They told her that the man they had promised she would find was sitting in my chair. She described her feelings as they opened her spiritual eyes and she remembered me from a heavenly lifetime.
She heard these words, “This is the man who will walk this spiritual path with you.”
My friend told me that she was arriving tomorrow and wanted to talk to me.
As I drove those few blocks home, my mind was filled with questions.
I was working on a small farm, helping a friend on a building project when I saw her come up the drive way.
She was so beautiful.
Tiny, petite, and long red hair flowing down her back.
I listened as she talked. Our conversation lasted four hours as we sat in the barn.
I told her that I needed to have some time to get my own heavenly answers.
The answer came the following spring when I was awakened in the night with an overwhelming feeling to pray. As my prayer unfolded I asked what I was to do about the red headed woman who had poured out her heart to me last winter.
The answer came softly and quietly. It was not a booming voice or the voice of angels but with an inward peace that stirred my soul.
The following day I called to see how she was doing.
I was nervous and paced the floor as I described my prayer experience. My emotions were flowing freely as I recited my night’s answer to her question.
I can’t come right away, she said. There are things that I must do to prepare first.
I hung up the phone and called the florist.
“Deliver one long stemmed red rose each day.”
“I don’t have a wedding dress, she said.”
My friend was intently listening as I described my phone call.
“What size does she wear?”
“I don’t know, I’ll call.”
“She said size 8.”
A smile formed on my friends face as his wife explained that a few years earlier she felt prompted to sew a wedding dress.
“I didn’t know why then, but I do now, she said.”
“The dress is size eight, and it is for her.”
She arrived late Friday night, I was worried that she might have changed her mind.
“I got lost she said, as she got out of her car.”
We embraced, she wanted to kiss, but I stopped her and said, “Why don’t we wait and kiss over the altar for the first time.
That day, March 5, 1994, marked the beginning of an incredible journey that lasted nearly 17 years.
We fell in love and together lived our dreams.
We laughed and cried and thrilled as our adventure unfolded each day. The energy that existed between us was palpable to those around us. The heavens unfolded to us a series of experiences over the next years that exposed us to people and places that unlocked our hidden memories of past lives and opportunities that lay ahead.
One of her dreams was to drive cross country and see the wonders that were there to find. We spent seven weeks on that walk about. We stopped when we wanted, camped when we wanted and finally ended up on a small private beach in Maine where we marveled at the ability of the universe to astound us with the generosity of people and the bounties of the earth.
One of my dreams was to live in Hawaii as a caretaker. It took a year, but the universe delivered.
We arrived in July 2009. My job was to write the checks for the various workers who would come to maintain the property, and to feed the cat, Wooly Bear. If any guests arrived, I would pick them up, orient them to the area and call the cleaning people when they left.
It was a dream job.
Our O’hana looked out over the ocean, the avocado, coconut, and banana trees were scattered around the yard, but the main property was coffee trees. Five hundred trees.
Kona coffee, mmmm, good.
We explored the island, swam in the ocean and bathed in Aloha energy. The volcano goddess Pele protected and blessed our life, the Lady of the mountain, Poliahu, nourished us. We conversed with departed spirits and were energized by the sea. It was a paradise.
It started as a small lump.
“A little tender, she said.”
We talked and she reassured me that no matter what happened, she would not let the doctors treat her.
She came from a pioneer family that believed in natural remedies, faith, and the miracles of the heavens.
We agreed to wait and see what developed, if anything.
It was Christmas when I felt that familiar feeling, the universe was planning a change for us.
When I approached her, she said, “Yes, I feel it too. I have been waiting for you.”
”Escalante? I said. Why Escalante?”
It was unmistakable, we both felt homesick for Escalante Utah.
We arrived in April of 2010.
We were excited to unload our storage boxes and finally throw them away.
I finished unloading the moving truck, and lay in bed happily exhausted when the phone rang.
“Your father died in the night, when can you get here?”
A week later we returned after the funeral wondering if this was the reason that we felt to leave Hawaii.
It was the middle of June when the cancer began to grow. It began with an explosion of nausea, vertigo, and excruciating pain.
She lost 25 pounds, unable to eat.
Do you want to contact the doctors, I asked?
Again, she said no.
It was September, I was in the garden, she was in bed.
I felt those two heavenly messengers come close to me and whisper, “It is time.”
Tears streamed down my face as I went in to talk with her.
“I know,” she said.
We cried and held each other for a long time.
“Call my family and tell them if they want to see their mother one last time that this is the time.
One by one, each family member came in and expressed their love and concern.
The pain was severe and the morphine had finally arrived.
I knew as the dosage was increased that she would loose consciousness.
She asked me to give her one last kiss before she faded away.
Then she was gone.
When every one finally left and all the arrangements had been made, I lay down beside her still body and cried into the night.
The early dawn began to lighten the sky.
Was she really gone?
Was this the end of our adventure?
Or, the beginning of a new adventure?
Over the next weeks, months and years, I have learned to listen to her new voice, to recognize when she is near.
It still hurts.
I miss the smile, her eyes, and especially her long red hair.
I have learned to see her with new eyes, hear her with new ears, and to feel her with a new heart.
What lies ahead?
Time will tell, but in the mean time ... the stories unfold and I am reminded that my journey is one that few experience.
She is now one of my heavenly messengers and she is always there for me, She encourages me to live life and especially share what we experienced together. Our spiritual path continues, maybe not in the way I had imagined, but she is still holding my hand as I continue this journey.
I am reminded by her that ours was a journey of discovery.
It began long, long ago and has far, far to go.

Aliens among us

Alright ... you asked for it.
Would it surprise you to know that we have aliens among us. No, not the immigrants from other countries that come to our country. These aliens come from other worlds in our universe.
There are hundreds and thousands of them living here on planet earth. They come from many different worlds. Some of them are much like you and I.
Ever watched the movies, Star Trek, Star Wars, V, or the countless other programs that have been part of our culture for decades?
I watched Buck Rogers when I was small and felt a sense of awe when I saw the special effects. Now it is pale in comparison to the realistic technology of movies today.
Many movies are based on leaked information from government agencies in an effort to acclimate us to these beings.
I started looking for more evidence to these visitors and in my search found they are scattered throughout history. Famous paintings and religious writings tell and show us that these visitors have been among us for thousands of years.
So ... what if your neighbor is not really from Los Angeles? Maybe a little further? Maybe a lot further.
Would you panic?
Would you be afraid?
Would you persecute them because they were different?
Would you hunt them down and kill them?
Our human species has not been kind to the animal kingdom or any others who are different than us.
Many still have problems with someone who has a different color skin, or a different accent, or a different religion.
Do you really think that we are the only intelligent beings in the universe?
What if these visitors are more intelligent?
Stronger?
What if they have an agenda?
Most of us have been part of an ongoing propaganda targeted to disinform us.
Roswell New Mexico.
What does that name bring to your mind?
Coverup?
Government weather balloons?
Deception?
So ... what if?
What if they are here and have been here for thousands of years?
What if they don’t look like us?
Are you ready to meet them?
Creation stories from many cultures tell about star beings who visit the earth. They sometime seed their DNA here among us.
What if you or I are star beings?
What if some are capable of changing their shape?
Is the human vehicle the ultimate form that we take?
I have pondered these questions for years and I am ready to have first contact with these visitors. I believe that some may be hostile and some may be friendly. I will not judge an entire race by a few individuals. I would hate to think that the human race would be judged by a few lunatics who just happen to be leaders or rulers. Any intelligent race who watches our media programs and news broadcasts would certainly come away with a distorted view of our world.
All of us are star beings in one sense. We are all bits of star dust. Our bodies are made up of elements that have been drifting in space for millennia until they ended up on planet earth.
Governments are now beginning to disclose information about these beings. Some countries are open and honest about these UFO’s and EBE’s. Extraterrestrial biological entities.
Much of our technology has been reverse engineered from alien spacecraft.
Our explosion into the technology age is a result of these encounters.
So ... I ask again.
Are you ready?
Really ready?
I am.

An unconventional message from Heaven

A little help down here?
Hello ... is anybody there?
I need some help.
I would really appreciate some clues.
How about a sign?
You know, a mother ship would be spectacular!
Hmmm .......
A crane?
That’s your sign?
Are you kidding me?
OK, I will check it out ....
Wow, that is cool.
Is that all you have?
Hmmm ....
A skunk?
You have got to be kidding me ... right?
That little thing just about stepped on me.
What if he had sprayed me?
You better be more careful.
Oh, check out the message?
OK
Hmmm ...
So, let me get this straight ...
I am about to recover something that had almost become extinct within me ...
I need to have a sense of protectiveness or secrecy to something I have given birth to or are about to give birth to ...
Celebrate my creative resources and keep them alive ...
The mystical and magical realms will be available for resources ...
Be fearless in my peacefulness ...
Stronger responses and a greater ability to attract people will begin to unfold ...
It will be necessary at times to avoid people and sometimes to draw people ...
The kundalini will flow through my life and will amplify my creative force allowing it to flow through several lines ...
My sensuality physically, sexually, psychically, and spirituality will be increased ...
How this manifests will be controlled by me ...
... I am humbled, thank you for being so patient with me. I will try to do better in the future.
The following information was given to me at dusk. The in-between time, when doorways are open. This is a perfect time to meditate, to call upon our guides and totem animals to help us in our earthly journey. Our departed family members and heavenly angels are always with us, waiting for us to call on them for help. Because I have broadened my vision to include the animal kingdom, they are often the ones who open my eyes to possibilities and opportunities. Never again will I view the crane and the skunk with the same eyes, for they have become my teachers.
Oh, and by the way ...
I am still waiting for that mother ship.

Amygdala

Amygdala

I have been watching for many months as world conditions continue to worsen. The daily news networks consistently report on events that not only promote fear but create fear through media manipulation. The result is an atmosphere of fear, distrust and unease.
I have long been an advocate of peace and balance in my life and though I have not always succeeded in maintaining that peace, I can stand back and place things in perspective.
When fear gets the upper hand in my life and I recognize what has happened I begin to list possible reasons for that fear.
Have I placed my trust in man’s imperfect system?
Have I watched a program that may have triggered my insecurity?
Have I listened to a friend or a family members fear and subconsciously allowed that negative energy to take over?
Has my own lack of trust in my inner knowing been compromised?
Has my lack of trust in my heavenly beings and guides been weakened?
When I finish this review process, I am usually able to target the cause and remedy the symptom.
There are times when I am not able to find the cause and this leads me to another more sinister cause.
We have located in our brain, a gland that is responsible for our fear or flight response. It is called the Amygdala. It is almond sized and is an inch beneath our temples.
Scientific research has shown that this gland can be manipulated to trigger a fear or flight response. When this happens, our normal thinking processes are disturbed and altered.
This knowledge has been used to control us for many thousands of years.
If I can create a sense of fear in your life, I can control your actions for my own purpose.
Unscrupulous entities have used this means to create the energy of fear, upon which they feed.
The myth of Vampires has basis in truth. There are those who use this fear to sustain themselves.
Government entities use this knowledge to control the masses of people who depend on news outlets for their information.
Religions use this fear of death and hell to build their membership and followers.
What if I told you that there is a simple way to negate this trigger?
Would it be something that would make a difference in your life?
Well, here it is ...
Imagine a light switch, you know the kind that toggle up or down.
Now in your minds eye, flip that switch.
That’s it!
Simple as that!
Now, how are you going to remain in a state of peace?
I am not blind to the disturbing evidence that swirls around us each day. The wars and death and dishonesty and downright wicked behavior of people, corporations, governments and religions stir the pot of fear to keep us in their control, but we can fight back.
Make sure the switch is off.
Start reviewing the good things in your life. The family ties, the heavenly miracles, gifts from the universe, lessons learned, wisdom gained, natures beauty, the awe and wonder of the heavens above, the unconditional love from our pets, a forgiving friend, or any of countless little things that happen every day.
Turn off mainstream media and quiet your mind by turning off the noise and chatter of the world.
Stop multitasking and enjoy one thing at a time.
If computers, phone or TV has taken over your life, begin to cut back until the addiction has been broken. These things are meant to be tools to help us, not control us.
When fear no longer controls us, we are truly free to choose and make the life that we dream and hope to achieve.
Do it now.

Velvet ant

Velvet ant

Today I saw a velvet ant. It was pointed out to me by a friend and neighbor who stopped by to say hello. She cautioned her son to be careful because they would sting if bothered and said that they are solitary creatures.
I thought about what she said, I hadn’t really noticed them before today. I wondered if I had become that velvet ant in my life style and mannerisms.
Wikipedia describes them as: “The Mutillidae are a family of more than 3,000 species of wasps (despite the names) whose wingless females resemble large, hairy ants. Their common name velvet ant refers to their dense pile of hair which most often is bright scarlet or orange, but may also be black, white, silver, or gold. Their bright colors serve as aposematic signals. They are known for their extremely painful stings, hence the common name cow killer or cow ant. Unlike a real ant, they do not have drones, workers, and queens. However, velvet ants do exhibit haplodiploid sex determination similar to other members of Vespoidea.”
I did a little research and found that wasp’s belong to the same group as bees and ants. They live in differing societies. Some are social and some are solitary species. The wasp paralyses their prey so that the grubs can feed on the prey until they are fully grown.
“There is tremendous symbolism to the wasp and all of its activities. It can teach us the lesson of fulfilling our role and responsibilities and help us construct and nurture our dreams. The six sided cell is a geometric shape associated with the heart. The grubs are the things of the heart that must be nurtured and hatched in solidness. Dreams without practical preparations are more likely to fail and die. Dreams motivate us, but their fulfillment is based upon work. Wasps have a cycle of power ranging from spring to fall. Late summer it is stronger. Wasps have a tendency to become more aggressive in the late summer and early fall. This cycle is usually at play for those to whom the wasp is a messenger.”  Animal-Wise by Ted Andrews.
When animals, birds, or insects show up in my life I look for clues to help my life flow more in harmony with nature and my own natural flow of energy.
Am I feeling paralyzed in the pursuit of my goals?
Am I building a strong foundation?
Am I working for myself or the group?
Am I fulfilling my life’s work?
Are those around me doing their part?
Am I pursuing my dreams in a practical manner?
Am I too aggressive in my pursuits?
I can learn many things from todays messenger. I am grateful for a wise neighbor who noticed this teacher when I did not.
I see many things that I will ponder in the next days to see if my life is in harmony with my spiritual self. I will pay attention to small details and listen more intently to what is being said and done. I will make sure my social interaction is balanced and I will review my dreams and goals in life.
