Wondering ...

I splashed in the small creek with my grandsons yesterday. We walked up slick rocks meandering through water, moss and fish.
It was there I saw you, sitting in the water happily enjoying the warm summer sun, splashing and totally absorbed in nature’s beauty.
You smiled so brightly, I could tell you were in love with life.
You splashed the boys and engaged them in a friendly water game. They soon warmed to your smile and laughter and they too noticed your love of life.
I looked at you wondering, could it be?
Could it really be?
You felt it too.
We tried to talk but you are from far away and words escaped us. Unable to talk we stood in the water and marveled at the beauty around us.
Time stood still for a moment and in the silence of nature we understood our mutual love of life.
Most importantly, I felt your heart and you felt mine.
The boys tugged at me impatiently wanting to explore the water and its mysteries.
I wanted to stay longer but the boys were filled with limitless energy and urged me on.
I wanted to hold your hand and look into your eyes, but it was then I saw your ring and wondered.
Sadly, I left you there in the middle of the stream, urged on by the boys.
Sitting on the bank watching the boys play, I felt your gaze, turning, I saw you standing on the bridge, watching me.
I wondered, could it be?
Could it really be?
I turned my attention back to the boys playing in the water, so happily engaged in play and forgot you for a moment.
Again I felt your gaze, and turning, I saw you walking towards me.
You stood there in the afternoon sunlight, looking so radiant, smiling so brightly.
I wondered, could it be?
Could it really be?
We tried to speak again, but words failed us.
In silence, I felt your heart and you felt mine.
Should I reach out?
Should I touch your hand?
I saw your ring and wondered.
I touched your hand and waved goodbye.
I wondered again, could it be?
Could it really be?
Time will tell and in my heart, I trust in life and love and smiles.
Now, here I am, driving back, to find your smile and touch your hand.
Are you there?
Are you really there?
I wonder, could it be?
Could it really be?
My Beloved Ones ... I know you are there.
Could it be?
Could it truly be?
As I near this place, my heart know true and pleads with me ...
Trust in me! and love once more ...
Wondering? ...
Wondering! ...
Wondering ...
